Carmen Molina (Barcelona, 1991) is a documentary filmmaker and cinematographer.
In 2021 she was awarded a scholarship for the Master’s Degree in Creative Documentary at UPF Barcelona, to which followed the Cinematography Master at ESCAC Film School.
In 2022, she co-directed and photographed the short documentary “Latència”, produced by 15L Films, selected at the VOC Awards, Brain Film Fest, and winner of Acció Curts from Dones Visuals and Inclús Festival by CaixaForum.
As a cinematographer, Molina has lent her visual expertise to projects that explore social and cultural narratives. Her credits include “Corren Las Liebres”, by Lorena Ros, selected in development labs such as SSIFF, Zinebi, Documenta Madrid, She also films and edits “Decían que era bruja” premiered at Directed by Women Madrid and selected for the MAFIZ Festival de Málaga, among many others.
In 2023, she expanded into the world of live performance, working as a camera operator in the international tour of singer Bad Gyal. The following year, premiered “Until He’s Back”, a film by Jaqueline Baylon, produced by Scripps News and PBS awarded Best Documentary Short Award at Big Sky, Hamptons and DOC NYC, nominated for the IDA Documentary Awards, and Shortlisted for the 97th Academy Awards.
Her work has been featured by leading media outlet such as National Geographic and she had collaborated with organizations such as Open Society Foundation and various NGOs. She is also a member of Women Photograph collective and Dones Visuals.
